How To Swim Freestyle Properly

Freestyle swimming, also known as front crawl, is a great cardiovascular workout that can help improve your overall fitness and endurance. Here are some tips on how to swim freestyle properly:

  1. Start with proper body position: Your body should be horizontal in the water, with your face down and your arms extended in front of you. Your hips and legs should be close to the surface of the water.

  2. Master the kick: The freestyle kick involves alternating quick, small kicks from your hips and keeping your legs relatively straight. Keep your ankles loose and your feet pointed.

  3. Focus on your arm stroke: The freestyle arm stroke starts with one arm extended forward and the other arm back by your side. Pull the arm back towards your hip as you rotate your body, then bring it forward again, entering the water with your hand and extending your arm back out in front of you.

  4. Incorporate breathing: Take a breath by turning your head to the side as you lift one arm out of the water. Exhale underwater as your head returns to the starting position.

  5. Practice, practice, practice: As with any new skill, practice is key to improving your freestyle swimming technique. Take lessons or seek out a coach to help you refine your technique and offer feedback.

Remember to take your time and focus on proper technique, rather than speed, as you learn how to swim freestyle properly. With patience and practice, you'll soon be swimming like a pro!
